Ok, I am so excited to be sharing these photos with you all! It has been a dream of mine for a long time now to have professional photos taken of our little family, and I cannot imagine a more perfect pair of photographers for the job than Mark and Laicie (check them out, they also grow beards, bake pies, and blog over at A Thousand Threads). The whole thing was just the way I like it: spontaneous and out of the blue....Mark and Laicie were hired by Hilton Hotels to do a photo shoot for promotional materials, and the family they had planned on using as models couldn't make it at the last minute. Thanks to Instagram and A Daily Something, I found out about the opportunity and we volunteered to stay in DC for a couple of nights at a Hilton hotel as their stand-in models.
We had a blast staying at a fancy hotel, eating made-to-order breakfasts five times so they could get the perfect shot, riding the hotel escalators even more times, swimming in the pool, late night shopping (there was a shopping mall attached to the hotel) and then traipsing around DC. We also realized that the whole photo shoot thing can be E X H A U S T I N G. The boys were little troopers though, and as Ben and I looked through these photos last night, we agreed that it was worth every ounce of energy. I love the fact that it was so last minute, because it didn't even give me the chance to over-think anything. We just showed up as we were, and had fun :) These are the pictures that were taken in our hotel room, go here for pictures of our day in DC!
